What Happens If You Send Crypto to the Wrong Address?

I Sent Crypto to the Wrong Network or Address — What Now?

Sending crypto to the wrong network or address, or without a required Tag or Memo, can limit recovery or make it impossible in some cases. That's because different cryptos work on distinct networks and these networks have their specific rules, addresses and protocols. Selecting the wrong network means your payment won't be processed accurately. This guide explains what can still be done and what information support will need.

Common Scenarios

What happens depends on the type of error.

Scenario

Recovery likelihood

What to do

Wrong network (e.g. sent USDT on BEP20 but Cashier shows ERC20)

Possible in some cases — depends on network and wallet type

Contact Metaspins support immediately with full transaction details. Do not send more funds.

Wrong address (sent to a different casino or wallet)

Very unlikely — crypto transactions are irreversible

Contact the destination wallet or platform directly. Metaspins cannot recover funds sent to an external address. In cases where a player sends to a wrong Metaspins address (e.g Sending ETH to a Metaspins USDT address) recovery may be possible.

Missing or incorrect XRP Tag / Memo

It may be possible — contact support immediately

Contact Metaspins support immediately with TX hash, amount, timestamp, and a screenshot. Do not delay.

Information to Have Ready

If you contact support, having the following ready will help us investigate as quickly as possible.

  • TX hash (Transaction ID)

  • Screenshot of the transfer confirmation from your wallet or exchange

  • Coin sent (e.g. USDT, XRP, ETH)

  • Network used (e.g. ERC20, TRC20, BEP20, Main chain)

  • Amount sent

  • Timestamp (date and time of the transfer)

How to Avoid This in Future

A few quick checks before each transfer can prevent most deposit routing issues.

  • Always copy the deposit address directly from your Metaspins Cashier for each new deposit. Never reuse a saved address.

  • Double-check that the network shown in your Cashier matches the network you select in your wallet or exchange before sending.

  • For XRP: always check whether a Destination Tag is shown in your Cashier and include it when sending.

  • If unsure about any detail, contact support via live chat before sending.

Contact Support

If you believe funds were sent incorrectly, contact our support team via live chat or email (support@metaspins.com). Live is available 24/7, and it's recommended for urgent cases. Email takes a while, but it provides more detailed information.

Have your TX hash, screenshot, coin, network, amount, and timestamp ready to share.
